PRIVACY POLICY
NAPIPROJECT is the acronym for the research project titled: “Immersive Prosocial Audiovisual Narratives: Measuring their Impact on Society and Analyzing their Formal and Technological Characteristics”. This project is funded by the Department of Innovation, Universities, Science, and Digital Society of the Generalitat Valenciana (Spain) (CIAICO/2021/258, 2022-2044) and is conducted by researchers from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). Its main objective is to explore the potential of immersive technologies as a new medium for storytelling with a prosocial purpose. The project aligns with the university´s commitment to the 2030 Agenda by advancing research initiatives that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
“Five Years Later” is one of the outcomes of NAPIPROJECT. This immersive 6DoF documentary addresses social issues related to migration, focusing on the rescue ship Aquarius. On June 17, 2018, the Aquarius docked at the port of Valencia, Spain, with 629 people on board who had been rescued from drowning in the Central Mediterranean. On June 24, 2023, the fifth anniversary of this event was commemorated. Five Years Later reflects on the lives of these individuals five years after their arrival.
We want to emphasize that Five Years Later does not collect or store user data. Nonetheless, users may exercise their data protection rights concerning their personal data, as stipulated in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals regarding personal data processing (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter “GDPR”) and Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on theProtection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPD-GDD).
As NAPIPROJECT is conducted under the auspices of the Universitat Politècnica de València, a Public Law entity, it complies with the security measures established in Royal Decree 311/2022 of May 3, which regulates the National Security Scheme.
